I’m Back!! Miss Debbie joins Mark Anthony as we talk about Mark’s brush with being the “Voiceless Tour Director” as well as his recent tour to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

In dealing with an emergency situation that could have cost me my voice, I got a new appreciation for speaking without a mic as well as that restlessness to get back on the bus and behind a microphone. But not before having to cancel several tours with a really good client in order to deal with the surgery and recovery. Thank You For Your Understanding and you know who you are!!

With all that behind me, I was able to jump a flight to Albuquerque in time to pick up a new tour group and attend the annual Balloon Fiesta. In this podcast I break the tour down by day and get to relive the experience with the benefit of having time to relax and digest it all.

The balloon Fiesta and all that surrounded the tour is one to experience. It was a blast to see the balloons, visit the sights, see Santa Fe and meet the people who make it all happen.
There is just no way a simple podcast or video can bring it all back. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is one of those things that needs to be experienced and it is best to experience by bus to avoid the long lines, the crowds and see more of the area in less time.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
Started with 13 balloons in a parking lot and is now one of the largest international balloon events.

Best book on the Navajo Code Talkers
Being in Navajo country, we got to meet up with 3 of the Navajo Code talkers. Even saw them educate a clueless teenager and make us all proud as one of my tour guests, a retired Marine, saluted the three for their proud service to America as Marines.

Los Alamos/Bradbury Museum
Wow, when we finally found the place, we all wished we had more time to explore and learn all about the making of the first atomic bomb and what we all learned from the experience.  The history as well as the future of atomic research is laid out here in very interactive and educational format.

God’s Country Tours
Used this company for our step on and walking tours of Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  For Santa Fe, we had Clay who is the owner and found him to be very entertaining and educational.

Sandia Peak Ski and Tramway
This is one of those “Must Do” things if you are in Albuquerque.
